International Architecture Competition

72 hours to imagine the car park of the future!

In January 2022, INDIGO Group and DPA-X, Dominique Perrault Architecture’s research laboratory, launched an international
architectural competition inviting young architects from all over the world to imagine the car park of the future.

On a defined site, which will be studied for 72 hours, the aim is to encourage the emergence of innovative solutions linked to the architectural, urban,
environmental, and technical potential of a revaluation of underground car parks. For this first edition, the “CARPARK FUTURES COMPETITION” focused on part of a vast urban project developed in the 1990s to materialise the ambitions of a regional city with a European vocation: Euralille.

More than 320 young architects from 64 nationalities registered and 34 projects from 10 countries were submitted on 22 May. The winning projects were selected
by a jury of experts from the world of architecture and urban planning, co-chaired by Dominique Perrault, Architect and Urban Planner and member of the Institute, and Serge Clémente, President of the INDIGO group.
